Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

IEM IQAC

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established on 29.07.2019, in the institute for the academic year 2019-20 with Er. Nibedita Patra (Principal) as the Chairman. It works towards realizing the goals of Quality enhancement & sustenance. 

Institutional Policy

  • Develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institution
  • Channelize the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence
  • To strengthen scholarly research and creative achievement in students & faculty
  • To improve teaching and learning with state-of-the-art infrastructure
  • To broaden global perspectives. 

Regular or Periodical tasks

  • Audit is conducted every quarter based on the quarterly end reports submitted by various departments and cells. Non-Conformances are identified, reported and corrective actions are initiated.
  • Best practices are identified and are internalized by embedding them into various processes.
  • New practices are being adopted by attending Conferences and Workshops that are conducted on "QUALITY ASSURANCE".
  • Coordinating with various Units of the University and acting as Nodal agency for the accreditation process.
  • IQAC meetings are conducted periodically to review various processes and to evolve mechanisms for Quality enhancement.

Parameters of Interest to IQAC

Various parameters are considered for Quality enhancement and monitoring of those parameters is done through monthly reports. Some of the important parameters considered by IQAC for implementation in the Institute are as follows:


(A) Academics

1. Conduction of tutorials properly.

2. Conducting course coordinators meetings regularly for uniformity.

3. Conducting Workshops every Semester related to Core subjects of that Semester.

4. Procurement of library books.

5. Quality of assignments and question papers.

6. Lesson plan verification by HOD.

7. Analysis and follow up action on internal exam of students.

8. Conducting a faculty meeting every month.

9. Conducting a staff meeting every month.

10. Conduction of faculty orientation lecture every month.

11. Conduction of various committee meetings


(B) Student Development Activities

1. Conduction of Seminars.

2. Conduction of GDs.

3. Meetings conducted by various committees in which students are members. (Quality Circles)

4. Participation of students in sports & other hobby clubs.

5. Counseling.

6. Professional society activities.


(C) Industry-Related Activities

1. Guest lectures by industrial experts.

2. Industrial visits and tours.

3. Other industry related activities to be conducted by the departments with the support of the IRP.


(D)Research

1. Publications.

2. Planning for Excellency centre in every department.

3. Planning for International Conference.

4. Consultancy.

5. Innovation and entrepreneurship cell.

6. Faculty deputed to Workshops / Seminars / Conferences outside the Institute.
